Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) vanilla or chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 oz chocolate melts (any color)
  • 12 lollipop sticks
  • Optional: sprinkles or edible decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan and prepare the cake mix according to package instructions. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let the cake cool completely, then crumble it into fine pieces in a large bowl.
  3. Mix in the frosting until well combined; the mixture should be moist but not sticky.
  4. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill the cake balls in the fridge for about an hour.
  6. Melt the chocolate according to package instructions. Dip each lollipop stick into melted chocolate before inserting it into each chilled ball.
  7. Fully coat each pop with more melted chocolate and let them cool upright in a styrofoam block or similar stand.
  8. Decorate with sprinkles if desired before serving.
