Description

Rice Paper Crab Rangoons are a delectable twist on the classic appetizer that combines crispy rice paper with a creamy crab filling. These irresistible bites feature a golden-brown exterior that perfectly contrasts with the rich, savory interior. Ideal for sharing at gatherings or as a tasty snack at home, they pair beautifully with sweet chili sauce for dipping. Easy to prepare and sure to impress, these rangoons will elevate any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 rice paper wrappers
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (or imitation crab)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 green onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workstation by laying out all ingredients and filling a shallow dish with warm water.
  2. Soften each rice paper wrapper in warm water for about 15 seconds until pliable, then lay flat on a clean surface.
  3. In a bowl, mix together crab meat, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, and soy sauce until well combined.
  4. Place about two tablespoons of the filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the bottom over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly like a burrito.
  5. Cook either by baking or frying: For baking, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown; for frying, heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry each side for about two minutes until crispy.
  6. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce for dipping.
