  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 28 oz canned whole tomatoes (preferably San Marzano)
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping the onions and mincing the garlic.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; brown meatballs on all sides (about 5 minutes per batch).
  5. In another pot, heat remaining olive oil; sauté garlic until fragrant, then add canned tomatoes and crush them lightly.
  6. Once meatballs are browned, add them to the sauce and let simmer for at least 20 minutes.
  7. Serve over spaghetti and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.
