- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, warm milk until lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast and a pinch of sugar over it; let sit until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add melted butter and beaten eggs.
- Pour in the yeast mixture; combine until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth.
- Place in an oiled bowl covered with a damp cloth; let rise for about one hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll tightly and slice into equal pieces.
- Place in a greased baking dish; let rise again for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and milk before serving.
