Description

Cilantro Lime Steak Bowls are a vibrant and flavorful dish that combines marinated, juicy steak with fresh cilantro, zesty lime, colorful veggies, and hearty rice. Perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a quick weeknight meal, these bowls are as delightful to eat as they are to prepare. With customizable ingredients and a burst of flavors in every bite, they make for an unforgettable dining experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank or sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (red, yellow, or orange)
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: In a bowl, mix lime juice, garlic, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Place the steak in a resealable bag or dish and pour the marinade over it. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the steak: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade (reserve it) and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
  3. Sauté bell peppers: In the same pan used for steak, add olive oil and sauté bell peppers until tender yet crisp (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Prepare rice: If not already cooked, prepare rice as per package instructions; using broth instead of water enhances flavor.
  5. Assemble bowls: Layer rice at the bottom of bowls followed by sliced steak, sautéed peppers, and avocado slices.
  6. Drizzle with marinade: Pour reserved marinade over each bowl before serving.
