- 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, slightly overlapping each slice.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; heat gently without boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in most of the cheddar cheese.
- Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the potatoes and top with panko breadcrumbs and reserved cheese.
- Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
