  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 medium Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer half of the cheddar cheese, followed by apple slices and dried cranberries. Top with remaining cheese and place the other slice of bread on top (buttered side out).
  4. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes until golden brown; carefully flip and grill for another 3-4 minutes until both sides are crispy and cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, slice in half, and serve immediately.
