- 2 lbs russet potatoes, sliced thinly
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Thinly slice the russet potatoes using a mandoline or knife.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, add minced garlic, then pour in heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Top with Panko bread crumbs mixed with melted butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
