  • 6 cups mixed apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and almonds. Toss until well-coated.
  2. Roll out the pie crust into a pie pan for the bottom layer. Pour the apple-cranberry mixture evenly over the crust.
  3. Cover with a top crust and create slits for steam to escape.
  4. Bake on a baking sheet for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  5. Allow to cool for at least an hour before serving.
