Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces dried fettuccine pasta
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. If too thick, mix in reserved pasta water.
  5. Combine cooked fettuccine with the sauce, ensuring all noodles are well coated. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan or parsley if desired.
