- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened plant-based milk (almond or soy)
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 4 tbsp vegan butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup vegetable broth
Instructions
- Slice the pressed tofu into half-inch slabs.
- Dredge each slab in seasoned flour after dipping it in plant-based milk.
- In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, melt vegan butter and sauté the coated tofu until golden brown on both sides (about 4 minutes per side).
- Remove tofu and add minced garlic to the pan; sauté until fragrant.
- Pour in vegetable broth and lemon juice; simmer for about five minutes to thicken.
- Return tofu to the skillet, allowing it to soak up the sauce for another minute before serving.
