Filling
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup asparagus trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Method

Prepare the crust
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in the pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.

Sauté the asparagus
  1. In the same skillet, add the asparagus and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until tender. Remove from heat.
Mix the filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir in the cheese, bacon, and sautéed asparagus.
Assemble and bake
  1. Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.
