Beef Bulgogi Korean BBQ

Ingredients
  

Marinade
  • 1 cup Soy Sauce Low sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Brown sugar can be used
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 inch Ginger Grated
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onion Chopped
Beef
  • 1 pound Beef Sirloin Thinly sliced against the grain
Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds Toasted
  • 2 stalks Green Onion Chopped for garnish

Method
 

Marinate the Beef
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, black pepper, and chopped green onion to create the marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.
Grill the Beef
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the beef from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the beef slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
Serve
  1. Transfer the grilled beef bulgogi to a serving platter. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
  2. Serve hot with rice and side dishes like kimchi.

Notes

For a spicier version, add gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) to the marinade.
