Method
Marinate the Beef
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, black pepper, and chopped green onion to create the marinade.
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.
Grill the Beef
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the beef from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the beef slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
Serve
- Transfer the grilled beef bulgogi to a serving platter. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
- Serve hot with rice and side dishes like kimchi.
Notes
For a spicier version, add gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) to the marinade.
