Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced or canned peaches, drained
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness of peaches
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Toss to coat and set aside.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9-inch baking dish. Spoon the topping mixture over the peaches evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Serve
