Ingredients
  

For the Potatoes
  • 4 medium Russet potatoes perfect for a fluffy texture
  • 4 tablespoons Butter adds richness and depth
  • 1/2 cup Milk or cream use whole milk for lighter or heavy cream for indulgence
For the Greens
  • 2 cups Savoy cabbage tender leaves bring subtle sweetness
  • 4 stalks Scallions (green onions) finely chopped
Seasoning
  • to taste Salt essential for flavor
  • to taste Pepper essential for flavor
  • a pinch Nutmeg optional, for warm, aromatic notes

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Sauté the green onions and cabbage in a bit of butter over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Mash the boiled potatoes in a mixing bowl until smooth and creamy, adding in some milk and butter.
  4. Combine the sautéed vegetables with the mashed potatoes, stirring gently to mix.
  5. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with a pat of butter melting on top if desired.

Notes

Optional: Top with fresh parsley for a pop of color.
