Ingredients
Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly. Then, mix in flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
Knead the Dough
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let It Rise
- Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Pretzels
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and shape them into bunny forms.
Boil the Pretzels
- In a large pot, bring water to a gentle boil and stir in baking soda. Carefully drop each pretzel into the boiling water for about 30 seconds on each side.
Bake the Pretzels
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place boiled pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Cool & Serve
- Allow your Easter Bunny Soft Pretzels to cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving them warm.
Notes
