Prepare the Onion Rings
- Peel the onions and slice them into 1/2 inch thick rings.
- Separate the onion rings and set them aside.
Make the Beer Batter
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and thick.
Fry the Onion Rings
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each onion ring into the beer batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Carefully place the battered onion rings into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the onion rings with tongs and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
