Prepare the Pulled Pork
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the pork shoulder with salt and black pepper, then sear on all sides until browned.
- Transfer the seared pork to a slow cooker and add chicken broth. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
Make the Strawberry BBQ Sauce
- In a blender, combine fresh strawberries, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the sauce into a saucepan and simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
Combine and Serve
- Once the pork is cooked, shred it using a meat fork and mix in the strawberry BBQ sauce.
- Serve the pulled pork on toasted hamburger buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.
Notes
This pulled pork can be made a day in advance and reheated before serving. The strawberry BBQ sauce adds a unique twist to the traditional flavor.
