Ingredients
  

Cake Layer
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix prepared according to package instructions
Fruit Layer
  • 1 cup strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
Cream Layer
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream chilled
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Bake the vanilla cake according to package instructions. Allow it to cool completely.
Make the Whipped Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
Assemble the Trifle
  1. Cut the cooled cake into cubes. In a trifle dish, layer the cake cubes, followed by a layer of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Add a layer of whipped cream. Repeat the layers until the dish is full.
Chill and Serve
  1. Refrigerate the trifle for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

This trifle can be made a day in advance for convenience. Use fresh berries for the best flavor.
