Ingredients
  

For the Sandwich
  • 4 slices Rye bread Classic choice for flavor and texture.
  • 8 oz Corned beef Tender and flavorful.
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Melts beautifully.
  • 1 cup Sauerkraut Adds tangy crunch.
  • 4 tbsp Thousand Island dressing Creamy sauce that ties ingredients together.
For Grilling
  • 2 tbsp Butter For spreading on the outside of the bread.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Adds flavor to the grilled sandwich.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather your corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and rye bread.
  2. Generously spread Russian or Thousand Island dressing on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on the un-dressed side of one piece of bread, followed by corned beef and sauerkraut. Top with another slice of cheese.
  4. Close the sandwich with the second slice of dressed rye bread, dressing side facing in.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and grill until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Keep grilling until the cheese is melted and both sides are browned.
  7. Remove from the skillet, let it rest for a minute, then slice in half.

Notes

Serve with pickles on the side for an extra crunch.
