  • 2 cups fresh strawberries ripe and juicy
  • 1 tablespoon sugar for macerating
For the Whipped Cream Topping
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients, including fresh strawberries, cake mix, and whipped cream. Ensure everything is at room temperature for smooth mixing.
  2. In a large bowl, combine your cake mix with water, eggs, and oil. Stir until just combined and smooth—about 2 minutes will do the trick!
  3. Pour the batter into greased egg-shaped molds. Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before removing from molds.
  4. While cooling, hull and slice your strawberries. Toss them in a tablespoon of sugar to enhance their sweetness and let them sit for about 10 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. This will be your fluffy topping!
  6. Carefully cut each cooled cake in half horizontally. Layer one half with whipped cream and strawberries, then cap with the other half.
