Ingredients
  

Strawberry Layer
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for macerating strawberries
Custard Layer
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding mix instant
  • 2 cups milk cold
Whipped Cream Layer
  • 1 cup heavy cream chilled
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Garnish
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint for garnish

Method
 

Prepare Strawberries
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Toss to coat and let sit for 10 minutes to macerate.
Make Custard
  1. In another bowl, whisk together vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes.
Whip Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat chilled heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Assemble Trifles
  1. In serving cups, layer the macerated strawberries, custard, and whipped cream. Repeat layers until cups are filled.
Garnish and Serve
  1. Top each trifle with a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, ripe strawberries. You can also substitute with other berries if desired.
